Customers
often ask questions about our products and holiday options.
We have presented below the most commonly asked questions about
travelling in a campervan or motorhome
How
many seatbelts are in each vehicle?
Seat belts are mandatory in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
The number of seat belts depends on the vehicle.
The berth of the vehicle indicates the number of seat belts and
the number of passengers the vehicle is designed for.
For instance, the HiTop is a 2 - 3 berth vehicle and so has 3
seatbelts.
In Africa the number of seatbelts fitted to vehicles will differ
in some instances.
Can
a child seat be fitted?
Baby seats can be supplied in all our vehicles.
For children under the age of 3 years.
Where
does everyone sit?
Depending on the model of vehicle, usually 2 or
sometimes 3 passengers can sit in the front.
The other seatbelts are located around the dining tables.
Is
bedding supplied and what do I need to bring?
All you need to bring are your clothes and personal
items.
You will also need to purchase food once you have arrived in the
country you are travelling in.
We provide all bed linen including pillows, sheets, sleeping bags,
bath towels and tea towels.
Also, all kitchenware including cutlery, plates, pots and pans
are provided.
We even provide outdoor camping chairs!
Can
we travel one-way?
Yes - One Way Rentals are available between all
our branches.
The Minimum number of days for a One way Rental is 7.
Advance Inter-Island Ferry bookings are essential between November
and March.
Britz New Zealand can make these reservations which are to be
paid on pick-up.
Is
Accident Protection included?
Your vehicle is insured but you have to provide
an excess.
We offer two Excess Reductions options - the Collision Damage
Waiver and Complete Cover protection packages.
The details of these packages are contained within the Terms and
Conditions.
Do
I need a special license?
A valid, non-provisional, New Zealand driving
licence is required.
In case of overseas hirers, we strongly recommend that the country
of origin licence is accompanied by an international driver's
permit.
Can
we just pull over on the side of the road?
In New Zealand the local councils are quite strict
on ensuring campervans and motorhomes do not stay on the side
of the road.
Can
I pick up and drop off vehicles at the airport?
Pick up and return of vehicles is available from
any of our branches.
In New Zealand we offer complimentary transfers.
You simply need to contact us from the airport once you have cleared
customs.
