- Breakfast
- Departure for a special and unique visit
of the reknowned "CHATEAU DE VERSAILLES",
associated at Louis the 14th, the Sun King.
The Old Chateau : back in 1623, Louis XIII - father of Louis
XIV - built a 'hunting lodge, a little gentleman's chateau'
of brick, stone, and slate at Versailles.
Then from 1661 to 1668 the young Louis XIV, known as the
Sun King, had his own architect, Louis Le Vau, embellish
the residence.
Official Residence : in May 6, 1682, Versailles became the
official residence of the Court of France, supplanting the
palaces at the Louvre and Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
From 1678 to 1684, meanwhile, the terrace of the new chateau
was transformed into the Hall of Mirrors, symbolizing the
power of the absolute monarch.
- Lunch at the BARLOVENTO Restaurant
at Versailles
- Transfer to Toussus le Noble airport where
your private aircraft awaits you.
- Flight to SAUMUR (Saint Florent
airport)
- Visit of the magnificent castle "LE
CHATEAU DE SAUMUR" in the Loire Valley.
- Visit of the famous " GRATIEN MEYER Cellar".
Against the almost luminous backdrop of the Vallée
des Rois, the Gratien & Meyer cellars dominate the Loire
river skyline. In this 'temple to Saumur' modern techniques
are only ever introduced if they make it easier to achieve
the established styles. Ardent supporters of the Chenin
(Pineau de la Loire) grape, Alain and Gérard Seydoux
use it as the principal base of their sparkling Saumurs.
Blended with Cabernet Franc, it gives wines with finesse,
varietal character and elegance that will age well over
the long months in the galleries hollowed out of the tufa
chalk cliffs.
- Dinner will take place at the cellar.
- Night at the Anne D'Anjou Castle
in the heart of the Loire Valley
A private18th century mansion transformed into a sumptuous
hotel, with a historically graded façade and wrought-iron
staircase beneath a trompe-loeil ceiling. Guestrooms
overlooking the Loire or a 14th century chateau. On the
1st floor, 5 rooms have retained their original decor (Louis
XVI, Empire)
